Happy Hump Day Wendi and everyone who pops in here :) The gluten-free eating is going good so far, but I'm going to have to get creative in the next few weeks, lol. Fortunately I found out my ultimate morning mojo - oregon vanilla chai tea - is gluten free! I can give up anything, but didn't want to give up that! :)

Last night's walk was strong and fast - it felt good. I also got nice and soaked as many people had their sprinklers on. It was warm yesterday, so I didn't mind - kinda felt like a kid, LOL!

I really appreciate all the great positive energy coming from you Wendi - this was a great idea! I hope everyone has a positive day no matter what you do :)

Ann, I'm so glad you don't have to give up your tea! I'm a tea addict too, so I completely understand. And congratulations on the strong, fast walk! That's fabulous news.

Sprinklers are fun, aren't they? Just ignore the urge to prove you can still do a cartwheel and front handspring. Trust me. Bad idea. It gives your family and neighbors a little too much fun at your expense.

As for the positive energy, I believe you get back what you put out. :)

I have another guest motivator lined up for Monday, and I'm still cracking up over one of the quotes he thinks will get you ladies going.

Afternoon ladies! Ann, it sounds like you are doing real well on your gluten-free eating. I can only imagine how tough it can be for you. I'm glad you didn't have to give up your tea. I'm a coffee drinker but I got hooked on the flavored creams several years ago and when I started dieting it was simply one thing I couldn't give up. I actually found myself cutting back on other things just to make allowances for the sugar and calories of my hazelnut coffee.

Cartwheels? Hmm...I was the only cheerleader on the squad in elementary school who COULDN'T do a cartwheel! I never learned how. Isn't that something girls are supposed to be born knowing? Guess I missed that developing lesson. LOL

I did my workout this morning and actually had a full cup of coffee first! LOL Then my kids talked me into McDonalds for lunch. (sigh) Baby steps are better than nothing I suppose.

Yay, on the workout, Tonya! Did the coffee give you more energy? I've given up caffeine altogether so my workout is what gives me energy. Funny how that works, huh?

I did my usual 5 miles today before the rain came.

Good (late) afternoon,ladies. :)

I had to cancel my workout with Bruce today, since I was laid up in bed with a sore throat, stuffy head and a cough. Actually, being sick made me feel a little bit better -- obviously, something was coming on, so it must be why my workout went so poorly on Monday. I felt woozy and nauseous and had to quit halfway through the strength-training portion, although I was OK to walk on the treadmill.

This week, Bruce has really cracked down on what I'm eating. I have a specific diet -- although he doesn't call it a diet -- of what to eat, consisting mainly of fat-free yogurt smoothies, nuts and veggies, with the odd bagel and oatmeal thrown in. Luckily, since I'm sick I'm not very hungry anyway.

On the plus side, since I've been trying to drastically scale back on my Diet Coke (read: sweets) intake, I noticed yesterday that I just didn't WANT a Coke. Water's getting to be more my speed.

As you said, Tonya, baby steps.

I hope you feel better soon, Raina! Isn't it amazing how you stop wanting stuff once you're not used to having it?

You're doing great!

Get better quick! Lots of feel good vibes are headed your way. :)

I'm not really sure if the coffee before exercise gave me more energy or not. It make take a couple more times of compairson to decide:)

Raina, I hope you feel better soon. I've found the same thing about the water/diet coke thing. I still have my soda at dinner which I usually only drink half but have taken to drinking water with lunch and throughout the day. I've gotten to the point where it's the water I look for at those times now too.

Well, I had my birthday weekend away and put on 3 pounds. Ugh. Here I'd been doing so well.

Wendi said...

You're still doing great, Jami. Three pounds could just be water weight. Seriously. A week or two back on your regular routine and they'll probably disappear.

Thanks Wendi - oh my gosh I totally did want to do cartwheels - how did you know?! I'm very excited about the guest motivator on Monday *rubs hands together* :)

Hi Tonya! I LOVE hazlenut anything - I wouldn't want to give that up either :) I use heavy cream in my tea and also have to make allowances for those added calories. But the tea just isn't the same without it, u know? Go babysteps!! WOOT!

Raina - I hope you feel better soon! WTG on the move to water. I don't enjoy sodas like I used to, but for awhile there I didn't think I could ever give up soda. Keep up the awesome work :)

Happy belated bday Jami! I'll bet those 3 lbs don't hang around long :)
