Contests and such

The last week has been busy. I'm trying to finish up some loose writing projects and start a couple of new ones. I submitted a couple of things to publishers, so I'll let you know how that pans out.

I found out Cowboy Games won first place in the Duel on the Delta contest, and another of my manuscripts came in fourth in the Hook, Line & Sinker contest.

I'm gearing up for a weekend workshop retreat with screenwriter, Michael Hauge and a group of very talented romance authors. One of the recommended reads for the workshop is the fabulous book, Ain't She Sweet by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Those Southern settings slap me back home so fast my heart spins. Are there certain elements in books that do that for you? Maybe it's the setting. Maybe it's something else?

Release Dates and Secrets!

I just found out my erotic novella, Rough & Ready will be released by BookStrand in August 2008. And as you already know,Cowboy Games will release mid-2008. Sounds like a busy and exciting summer! I'm so glad I have all of you to share this journey with. Thanks for the emails and comments.

I'll let you in on a secret I haven't shared yet. I may have another late summer/early fall release in a different genre with another publisher. Do any of you like to read mysteries??? I'll keep you updated as the details unfold.

Last week I got a sneak peek at a couple of cover options for my novel. I clearly liked one better than the other, but I'm afraid my publisher preferred the one I didn't care for. I'm still waiting to see which one will grace the front of my book. Keep your fingers crossed we get the hot one, and I'll post it here as soon as it's finalized.

Winners will be announced in March. You know about my habit of coming in third place, but I think this contest has four finalists! I may actually be Wendi Fourth Place Darlin for a change.
