Book of the Week!

It's review time for Phantom Pleasures, the first book of Julie Leto's new Phantom series.

It's been a long time since I've read a ghost story and this is by far the sexiest ghost story I've ever read. The plot has wicked twists and turns that continue taking the story deeper and arousing anticipation for the next books in the series. Damon Forsyth is a delicious phantom trapped inside a cursed castle, and only Alexa Chandler can save him from the dark magic that has held him prisoner for centuries.

I love folklore, and Phantom Pleasures is steeped in romantic gypsy magic that promises to continue throughout the series. There's a well-crafted mix of historical and contemporary romance elements that lends depth to the novel that a lot of books don't achieve. The hero and heroine are explosive together and the threat outside the castle walls is complex enough to carry us well into the series. I'm looking forward to the second book, Phantom's Touch.

Next week I'll be reviewing First You Run by Roxanne St. Claire.

Leave a comment today for a chance to win a copy of Witchy Business by Julie Leto, Rhonda Nelson and Mia Zachary.
Countdown to Yummy Sunday - 4 days!

I like your site! Very nice! Found your contest announcement on JERK.

It's been a while since I've read a good paranormal romance, so I'll have to watch for these recommendations. The trouble is finding time to read right now with all the editing and writing that I do, LOL!

Thanks for stopping by, Faith! I have trouble finding time to read, too. That's why I committed myself to this weekly book review - so that I feel obligated to read at least one book each week. :)

I love a good ghost story too. There really aren't many of these out right now. They all seem to be vampires or shifters of some kind. I'm not complaining, I love anything paranormal. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one not finding much time to read these days. Busy, busy, busy!

I found your contest through JERK too - I haven't read anything by Julie Leto so I'd love the chance to get Witchy Business. :)

Phantom Pleasures sounds like a very good read. Something that would appeal to me. I love a good ghost story. I like the aspect of the historical part. I enjoy any historical books with all the flavors added. This will go on my TBR pile for sure.

The book sounds good. I love reading paranormal. I am glad you posted a note about this blog, that's how I found out about it and the contest. I don't have much time for reading either, but reading is an addiction with me. So somehow, even if I give up things that need to be done (like lunch, or sleep) I read. Is there a book readers anonymous out there? (Just kidding!) I wouldn't give up reading for anything!

I am only posting under anonymous because my google/blogger always says I have an account, but will never let me post (wrong password, wrong username) so that's really a problem! I never get an answer back from them, so I don't know what to do other than post under anonymous. I hope that this does not ruin my chances of winning...Thanks for your indulgence.

Thanks for stopping by everyone! Looks like the hat's going to be full for the drawing. :) I'm a big fan of Julie's books so I understand the draw. I'll choose the winner sometime after midnight tonight and post the winner's name tomorrow.

Thanks for all the compliments on the Cowboy Games video. I aim to please. ;)

Anonymous, you're in the drawing. I won't let blogger keep you out. :) Next time, you might want to sign your name at the bottom of your post in case there's more than one anonymous poster.

Rocki, I have a feeling it's going to be hard not to like a smokin' hot bullet catcher! I'm really looking forward to reading First You Run.

Thanks, Kissa. The covers are beautiful. Phantom Pleasures' cover almost looks metallic. The internet picture really doesn't do it justice.

Hi, Wendi!

PHANTOM PLEASURES is Julie's best book yet. For me, it's one of those rare books that I enjoy so much, as soon as I finish it I want to read it all over again.
