LOVIN' OUR BODIES Hump Day

I hope all the Lovin' Our Bodies ladies are feeling a little better, especially Ann and Raina. It's the middle of the week again. A day to remind ourselves to stay on track or to get going.

Since summer is upon us...at least it is here in Tampa...I thought this quote would be fun for today.

"If you want a place in the sun, you've got to put up with a few blisters." - Abigail Van Buren

Ain't that the truth! LOL I can't think of any part of life that doesn't apply to.

Feel free to check in if you want. Let us know if you need some encouragement. There will be times when we all need it.

Happy hump day Wendi! Another great quote :)

Though still fighting the fatigue, today I'm feeling positive and proud of myself for hanging in there with the change in eating.

I've had to reduce my walking time this week due to the anemia - I just don't have the energy - but the doc's appointment is on Friday and he should give me some supplements to help me back in that direction.

I've noticed some major changes since going gluten free:
My ankles aren't swelling up like they usually did when it was hot.

I have no heartburn.

My skin is clearing up.

I'm feeling more full and satisfied where before I didn't seem to feel that way, no matter what I ate.

So - full speed ahead - I'm in this for the long haul.

How is everyone else doing?

~Ann :)

Amazing, Ann! You are really seeing a huge improvement with the gluten-free diet. It makes me wonder how much gluten I consume. I've never thought about it before. I'll have to start paying a little more attention.

Friday will be here soon, and I've got my fingers crossed your doctor can help you combat the anemia quickly.

You are really keeping me motivated!

I did my usual walk today, but had to go a little later than usual. It was soooooo hot, but that's ok, I just glistened a little more. LOL

Ann, it sounds like you are doing great! Keep up the positive attitude and keep us posted about the apointment on Friday:)

I did my usual workout this morning. I'm not sure how much of a boost the before workout coffee gives but I'm certainly awake a lot more after a cup or two. LOL Maybe that's the boost needed to burn more calories.

I had a funny going to the grocery store yesterday. I looked down at my arms while I was driving and my forearms were bulging with muscles! My son got a kick out of my reaction. It's from all the raking I did over the weekend. I think I gave those particular muscles a bit too much of a workout and they were swolen but it was still cute.

I'll be on the road Friday headed to Ohio for the Lori Foster Get-together. If I don't get a chance to check in, have a good weekend everyone and stay fit:)

Aww, thanks you guys, the support is very much appreciated. I think it helped that I thought I had Celiac disease before I got tested, so I prepared myself and researched what I could eat. That seems to be what keeps me from feeling anxious - that I focus on what I CAN eat, and not what I can't.

I will be honest though, I'm not used to paying so much attention to what goes in my mouth, and while I know it's what I have to do for my health - it really was easier to grab and go, lol. I feel like I'm spending too much time worrying about what to eat. Hopefully that will get better in time.

Way to go with your walks Wendi - I hope soon I'll have the energy to do a five-mile walk. You keep me motivated!

And Tonya - way to go Miss Muscles! Usually when I rake I get rewarded with a sore backside for three days and whine a lot, lol. Have fun at Lori's!! :)

Wooo HOOO on those muscles, Tonya! LOL

Ann, eventually eating the way you need to will just become habit and you won't have to think about it much at all. You won't even reach for the bad stuff. :)

I was so excited tonight to read that my guacamole addiction isn't so bad. I knew avocados were packed with "good" fat, but tonight I read they are actually a metabolism booster. Since I don't put anything fattening in my homemade guacamole, I can eat it guilt free!!! Yay me!

It really is the little things, isn't it. :)
